During Paris Haute Couture Week in July 2016, Louis Vuitton revealed BLOSSOM, a high jewellery collection which tells the story of a metamorphosis with the four-petalled Monogram Flower constantly reinventing itself. A blooming centrepiece of seven spectacular necklaces – including the talismanic pendants – now presides over some sixty new rings, bracelets and sets of earrings.
The iconic Monogram Flower is reinterpreted through its shape breaking the elements of it up and layering them in new and surprising ways. The one constant at the heart of every design is a gemstone: a flamboyant bright 7.13-carat mandarin garnet, a 53.01-carat black opal with its kaleidoscopic reflections or a 29.75-carat tsavorite, whose rarely-seen bright sage green originates from a mine recently discovered in Merelani, Tanzania. Precious and ornamental gemstones are chosen with great care, and only the most spectacular are selected.
