“2018 will see the return of Japanese make-up and cosmetics,” writes Forbes. “There is fascination in 2018 for labels like Shiseido, Kanebo and Kate.” Therefore, dear readers, watch out for Shiseido, my favourite Japanese cosmetics brand. At Shiseido’s press event in December 2017, I not only discovered a big range of new skincare and suncare products for men and women, but also three amazing beauty looks. I bet you’ll also be tempted by the new Shiseido Tokyo makeup looks Spring 2018. They reveal the Japanese capital’s modernity and emphasize its audacity.
SHISEIDO TOKYO MAKEUP LOOKS SPRING 2018
Three creative interpretations reflect the irresistibly paradoxical city of Tokyo, which is both avant-gardist and attached to tradition, perfectionist, and fast-moving. Ginza, is the bustling city centre and birthplace of Shiseido. Ueno, is a park of a thousand colours, including those of the legendary Sakura cherry blossom. Roppongi is the fief of contemporary art and centre of an electrifying nightlife.
NEW SYNCHRO SKIN MAKEUP PRODUCTS
Synchro Skin Cushion Compact Bronzer (left) creates a skin that looks translucently tanned and radiant. The universal shade enhances every skin tone when patted over facial curves to imitate the sun’s rays, or used for light contouring. Applied alone or over foundation, this cushion bronzer is both discreet and efficient.
Synchro Skin Illuminator (right) features a crystalline fresh gel that infuses the skin with incredibly fine mother-of-pearl particles, making it look like it glows from within. Suffused in the pink light of the Rose Gold shade or the opalescent shimmer of Pure Gold, the skin is more radiant and plays at catching the light. Both new products will be available from February 2018.
Luxurious and multi-cultural, the Ginza district represents the city’s power and prestige. The Ginza look (above) focuses on a tanned and dewy skin that radiates sensuality with the new Synchro Skin Illuminator and Cushion Compact Bronzer. The finishing touch of the look focuses on eyes and lips. On the eyes, Paperlight Cream Eye Color in Sango Coral adds depth to the eyes with a subtle shade between orange and brick. On the lips, Rouge Rouge in Rose Crush, a glowing rosewood, heightens a naturally radiant smile.
Graphic, precise, and totally modern, it embodies the exciting energy of the Roppongi area, where the international crowd meets the local arty crew for nights of dancing until the first glimmer of dawn. Eyes are strong, bathed in silken grey Paperlight Cream Eye Color in Usuzumi Beige Grey, then structured with a few calligraphic lines of Inkstroke Eyeliner. Lips look audacious with a coat of Rouge Rouge in Poppy, a true red with powerful pigments.
The Ueno Look is a tribute to Tokyo’s Uena Park and its Sakura blossoms, a poetic flower that announces spring has arrived. A palette of pinks is revealed, iridescent and fresh, pure and delicate. Like an angelic halo, Paperlight Cream Eye Color in Nobara Pink diffuses a soft pink veil across the eyelids. A nude pink ribbon of Rouge Rouge in Hushed Tones softens the lips. Luminous pink skin evokes a radiant dawn.
