Gianni Versace (1946-1997) brought rock, art, glamour, sexuality and brilliant colour into contemporary fashion. He was the first to realize the value of celebrities in the front row and in ad campaigns. And he was the first to understand the value of supermodels. Gianni Versace created the supermodels. His glamorous fashion shows and ad campaigns featuring Linda Evangelista, Claudia Schiffer, Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell and Helena Christensen made history.
