“Venice never quite seems real, but rather an ornate film set suspended on the water.” This poetic description of La Serenissima by Frida Giannini, Gucci’s creative director from 2006 to 2014, reflects its mystery, its elegance and its unique beauty. Palazzo Ducale, Rialto Bridge, Ca’ d’Oro, Murano and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection.
Venice inspires not only painters, film directors and fashion designers. Valmont’s founders Sophie and Didier Guillon created a magnificent high perfumery collection inspired by Venice. Storie Veneziane features five exclusive perfumes that narrate an olfactory tale: Verde Erba, a springtime bouquet, is inspired by Pontile Sant’Elena, while Rosso, with its oriental floral character, is inspired by the cloister of San Francesco della Vigna.
With its voluptuous floral and aldehyde notes, Alessandrite pays tribute to L’Arsenale, an iconic temple of modern art and venue of the Venice Biennale. Gaggia Medio takes its inspiration from Dorsoduro and presents a bewitching harmony of cardamom, sandalwood and amber. Finally, Campo San Moisè, a masterpiece of baroque architecture, is captured in the gourmand fragrance Blu Cobalto.
After the successful launch of Storie Veneziane in 2018 with five fragrances in 100-ml bottles, Valmont celebrates the first anniversary of its olfactory tales with five 50-ml bottles that pay tribute to the Venitian leatherwork: every bottle is sheathed in Venetian leather in five colours.
