At Baselworld 2017, I discovered the world of luxury Bohemians at the stand of Ole Lynggaard, the world-famous luxury jewellery house based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Creative Director Charlotte Lynggaard set off to explore inner, feminine beauty and the creative corners of women’s minds.
OLE LYNGGAARD 2017 COLLECTIONS
This years, the Danish luxury brand presents a series of new jewellery pieces which have been added to its iconic collections: Snakes, Blush, Elephant, Love Bands, Golden Forest Leaves.
YOUR GUILTY PLEASURES
Masterfully crafted in 18K gold, the Snakes Collection features the irresistible seducer in all his curvy splendour. In 2017, two enticing snakes joined the coveted golden serpent family.
(left) Diamond-eyed and meticulously crafted with a hand-satinised surface, the new spectacular Snakes bracelet lovingly curls around the wrist.
(right) The spectacular slender statement collier gently caresses the curves of the neck. The collier is available in two enticing styles. Indulge in a guilty pleasure adorned with a plethora of immaculate diamonds or tenderly crafted with a hand-satinised gold surface.
GOLDEN FOREST LEAVES
Charlotte Lynggaard perpetually thrives turning the wonders of nature into fine jewellery designs, and her latest creations are no exception to that rule. With the Golden Forest leaf hoop earrings, the designer adds yet another covetable design to the bestselling collection of gold leaf jewellery. “To me, there is something exceptional about the shape of a leaf. It is obviously organic, but also very graphical and timeless. I adore the way a leaf bends into versatility, and these leaf earrings are great examples of bohemian coolness.” Master goldsmiths craft the hoops from hand-satinised 18K yellow gold leaves, bent into a large hoop-shape. A single diamond at the stem of each leaf glitteringly brings attention to the ear – and to the extraordinary foliage-shape of the hoops.
Ole Lynggaard loves to combine masterful craftsmanship and irresistible colour combinations. In 2017, the brand adds a new soft nuance to its signature vintage palette, introducing blush moonstone. “There is a delicate, poetic feel to blush-coloured moonstone that is absolutely beautiful. The soft, shimmering appearance of this semi-opaque stone makes it the perfect bohemian match to yellow gold, pearls, diamonds, bone, smoky quartz, red coral – and other moonstones,” says Charlotte Lynggaard.
LOVE BANDS COLLECTION
The luxuriously versatile collection salutes the art of love in charmingly curvy or simply straightforward designs. A single trail of icy white or deep brown diamond is the common denominator, the brown diamond styles being the laid-back member of the family.
“The chocolate diamond styles are perfect for displaying confident, relaxed luxury. Brown diamonds are inherently understated, but they should never be underestimated! Stack a brown diamond ring with other Love Bands or go for an asymmetrical boho look with one brown diamond hoop styled with a vibrant Shooting Stars earring – the shimmering beauty of the brown diamonds will come across with near-exuberant elegance,” explains Charlotte Lynggaard.
