Seduction, hedonism and freedom: the new men’s fragrance Azzaro Wanted pays tribute to the original values of its founder, the couturier Loris Azzaro (1933-2003), a bold, generous, seductive, free-thinking man, who knows how to enjoy life and its pleasures. An exuberant, solar, magnetic man that other men envy and women desire. Free-spirited, with the soul of a rebel, he lives his life as he pleases, ready to follow his instinct and change the rules of the game at the drop of a hat. He reaches what he targets, he gets what he dares.

Nikolai Danielsen is the new Azzaro man. The attractive Norwegian model (25), who is very athletic and a former boxer, represented Norway at the Mr. International beauty contest in 2011. In the Azzaro Wanted advertising campaign, Nikolai plays a wanted man, a desired hero, a curious and uninhibited pleasure-seeker who lives his life as he wishes, in the streets of Barcelona, the capital of the night life. Nikolai’s favourite scene was the one with the car. “It was fantastic, every guy dreams of driving a Ford Mustang, at least once in his life,” he says. “t’s a dream come true! The life of a millionaire, a playboy and a gangster, all in one!”


The Azzaro Wanted bottle is a blend of style and technology. It recalls clockwork mechanisms and pistons of a prized sports car that a man loves to discover when he lifts the hood. The bottle is faceted by rounded geometric shapes inspired by some of the brand’s codes: like the ring, a key Azzaro identifier. The rotating cylinder holding the bullets evokes risk-taking, defiance and self-confidence.

Azzaro Wanted was created by Fabrice Pellegrin, a French perfumer from Firmenich. He composed an elegant woody fragrance soaked in fresh spices. An explosive first impression (lemon, ginger), a fleeting heart (cardamom, pyrogenic prickly juniper) and a muscular, ultra-sensual base (Tonka bean, vetiver). Asked about what makes Azzaro Wanted so desirable, Fabrice Pellegrin says: “There’s a kind of ambiguity, a somewhat fascinating paradox between warm woody notes and cool spices. Desire arises mainly from the ginger (and its spicy-peppery-rosy smell). It’s a key ingredient in this fragrance and its aphrodisiac symbolism.


VERTIGO attended the launch of Azzaro Wanted in Zurich, Switzerland, on 18 January 2017. In France, the fragrance was launched in 2016. “Azzaro Wanted was the most successful launch of a new men’s fragrance in France in 2016,” said Laurent Malaveille, General Director of Clarins Switzerland, to VERTIGO.
