Families of the French bourgeoisie usually have too many expectations when it comes to their children: a bilingual nanny, the most advanced kindergarten, the best school, the most expensive clothes, the most exclusive tennis and golf school, the most exclusive Gucci and Louis Vuitton accessories, friends of the same social class, the most exclusive vip holidays etc.
Claude and Marie Verneuil aren’t that elitist. They just want four perfect catholic husbands for their lovely four daughters. But they nearly get a heart attack when they get to know their future sons-in-law: a Chinese, a French African, a Jew and a Muslim. They are so desperate that they continue to ask themselves: “Qu’est-ce qu’on a fait au bon dieu?” (in English: “What have we done to God to deserve this?”)
