From Paris to Rome. Paris took centre stage of the Haute Couture week in July 2015. Except for Valentino. Creative Directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli brought Italian haute couture to a place they love, a city that launched the successful House of Valentino: Rome.
It is a magical and mysterious journey exploring a city full of wonders that are unknown to most: mysterious, pagan and ecclesiastic, sensuous and rigorous, dark and seductive. A city that does not contemplate flattery, revealed through glimpses and illuminations in a surprising interpretation.
The austere, sleek set designed by artist Pietro Ruffo is a modern interpretation of the Roman Forum. This is the stage for a collection with solemn, magical mystery: profound, decadent and moving.
The couture show was unique. The location was sensational. Back to the roots. Valentino Garavani, the founder of Maison Valentino, was sitting in the first row. He wrote history. And he must be proud of the fact that he found two worthy successors: Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli. Bravissimi!
