After writing an article on the Queen of Sheba for VERTIGO Magazine, I was tempted to explore her ancient beauty secrets and booked the Saray Signature Dead Sea Journey (120 minutes) at the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel in Dubai. That’s how I discovered the best spa body treatment in Dubai.
The Saray Spa, which draws inspiration from the historic Caravanserais located along the Silk Roads, is a wellness paradise of 4,300 square meters. It spans the entire third floor of both hotel towers. It features 15 treatment rooms, men’s and women’s hammams, jacuzzis, steam rooms, saunas, as well as additional hydro-facilities, spacious relaxation areas and an exclusive retail boutique.
GETTING READY FOR THE ARABIAN BODY RITUAL
My evening at the Saray Spa started at 7.45pm with a 30-minute relaxation in the jacuzzi. I had it all for myself and it helped me to relax after a busy working day. Guests can also opt for the sauna or the steam room.
At 8.15pm, Christy, a very kind and professional masseuse, accompanied me to the most exclusive treatment room of the Saray Spa. The room is equipped with its own Dead Sea Floatation Pool. Furthermore, the calming dimmed light is perfect to unwind.
BEST SPA BODY TREATMENT IN DUBAI
Christy started the Saray Signature treatment with an energizing scrub. She used aromatic Dead Sea salts. A scrub is the best way to buff off dead skin cells and leave the skin soft and smooth. Afterwards she asked me to take a shower before applying a full body mask with rich remineralizing mud from the shores of the Dead Sea. When she finished, she wrapped me in a plastic sheet and applied a mask on my face.
After about 20 minutes, I took a shower before immersing myself in the private heated pool. It was filled with therapeutic salt minerals rich in high levels of calcium, magnesium, bromide, potassium and sulfate. Research has shown the benefits of those special minerals for the skin, muscles and joints. What a unique experience! The effortless floatation was very relaxing.
Finally, Christy concluded the luxury spa treatment with a 20-minute massage of nourishing body oil with soothing rose. My body’s skin was as soft as a baby’s skin. It was about 10.30pm when we finished. I went straight to bed and slept deeply all night long.
The Saray Signature Dead Sea Journey was the best body treatment I’ve ever had. Therefore, I highly recommend it to residents of Dubai and tourists.
