Dubai is known for a few of the world’s tallest and biggest buildings. The Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world (829.8 m or 2,722 ft), the Dubai Mall the biggest shopping mall in the world, and Dubai Parks the world’s biggest theme park. But did you know that Dubai breaks another world record? It is the city with the world’s tallest hotel. Curious to discover it? Check out the top 10 secrets of my stay at the world’s tallest hotel, the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai.
(Above) My stay at the world’s tallest hotel was a unique experience. This is my favourite picture of the 5-star hotel. It would provide the perfect location for a James Bond film. At a height of 355 metres, the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai is the tallest hotel in the world. It is just 26 metres shorter than the Empire State Building in New York and 35 metres taller than the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
MY STAY AT THE WORLD’S TALLEST HOTEL
(Above) The rooms of the hotel are big and the bathrooms are very spacious. I booked a guest room (44sqm) with a very comfortable king bed. I particularly liked the huge bathroom (see below), the long working desk with incorporated plugs and the floor-to-ceiling windows.
(Above) If I had such a great bathroom at home, I would spend every day three hours in it. It is divided into three parts and features a shower and a toilet, which both have a separate door, a bathtub and a huge wash basin. Even Huda Kattan would be delighted to put all her make-up products on the long wash basin.
DIM SUM, TANDOORI, FRENCH PASTRIES AND ICE CREAM FOR BREAKFAST
(Above) Breakfast is served at the Kitchen6, an all-day dining restaurant. Make sure to be hungry when you go to this restaurant for breakfast. It offers Asian woks, Middle Eastern grills, European breads and Indian tandoors. You can even have ice cream for breakfast.
(Above) Delicious! You can even have dim sum for breakfast. Like in Asia!
(Above) The Kitchen6 is very spacious and not crowded – not even during breakfast time. I also loved the coffee bar where I ordered a cappuccino and a latte macchiato. They were served within two minutes. Guests don’t have to queue up. In Dubai, I once stayed at a 5-star hotel where they simply poured black coffee from a coffee pot during breakfast time.
BEST BODY SPA TREATMENT IN DUBAI
If someone asked me, what I liked most about the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai, I’d say without hesitation: the Saray Spa. I strongly recommend the Saray Signature Dead Sea Journey. I booked it in May 2017 during a business trip to Dubai. It was like heaven.
The Saray Spa offers more than 40 treatments. What’s your choice? Cleopatra Milk and Honey Ritual? Moroccan Rose Hammam? Indigo Healing Art? Jet Lag Reviver? Fragrant Stone Massage? Aromatherapy Massage? You’ll be spoilt for choice!
