In Season 4, which will premiere on Netflix on 15 August 2024, Emily Cooper visits the house and the gardens of Claude Monet in Giverny. The Master of Impressionism, who lived from 1840 to 1926, created his famous water lily ponds paintings at his home in Giverny, close to Paris and Rouen.
Monet’s house in Giverny turned into a place of artistic pilgrimage, even in his lifetime, for Monet had become a hugely admired artist by this time. Today, the picturesque village of Giverny still draws artists, art lovers and tourists alike.
A visit to Giverny is a must for art and garden lovers. Check out the official website of Claude Monet’s house and gardens, which are open every day. Online booking is recommended on weekends and bank holidays. In Paris, take the train from Gare Saint-Lazare to Vernon-Giverny. The train journey takes about an hour and the one-way train ticket costs about 18 euros. You can buy the SNCF train tickets online.
But Emily is not the only fashionista interested in art and Monet. Camille, who works for an art gallery, happens to be in Monet’s garden the same day. Mon Dieu!
