ARIADNA GUTIÉRREZ METAMORPHOSED BY BRASSAÏ

“Black, pure essence, ink-stained whites, drawn as one writes, under the distant gaze of two poets: Prévert and Brassaï.” This is how Stephane Rolland, the architect of haute couture, describes the breathtakingly beautiful collection he recently unveiled in Paris.

Spanish topmodel Nieves Álvarez, the muse of Stephane Rolland, opened the show with her inimitable femme fatale walk, wearing a cut-out tuxedo jumpsuit in wool crepe and black satin, as well as a diamond belt.

Colombian model and actress Ariadna Gutiérrez, the surprise guest of the show, hit the runway wearing a tailored dress in black double wool crepe with black organza inserts as well as an embroidered bodice with onyx and diamonds.

Canadian topmodel Coco Rocha had the honour to close the show as the bride, wearing a giant “alcove” hood embroidered with porcelain and white organza petals, as well as a skirt with train in white wool gazar.

Brassaï was a Hungarian-born French photographer who created countless iconic images of 1920s Parisian life. He loved to take pictures at night, especially in the streets of his neighbourhood of Montparnasse. In 1933, he published his book Paris de Nuit (Paris by Night).

Jacques Prévert was a French poet who composed ballads of social hope and sentimental love. He was best known for his “song poems”, many of which were put to music by composer Josef Kosma and reached a vast audience of young people.
