French couturier Julien Fournié presented “Première Lumières”, his haute couture collection Fall/Winter 2016/17, at the Oratoire du Louvre on 5 July 2016.
“I want to create universes and tell stories,” the couturier once said in a video interview with TV5 Monde. “Each season, I present couture collections and develop my couture dream.”
The cut and the embroidery are two of Fournié’s specialties. Jacqueline is his closest co-worker in the atelier. “She knows my obsessions with the form of the body,” says the couturier. “Creating a dress is like surgery.”
Fournié’s creations are also a mix of craftsmanship and futuristic technologies. His haute couture collections and his prêt-à-porter collections are all made in France.
