Lebanese haute couture designer Ziad Nakad invited me to attend his haute couture show The Snow Crystal Forest, which took place at the Westin Hotel in Paris. A huge ball room with amazing second empire-style frescos had been transformed into a snowy enchanted forest. What a magnificent scenery! It was like being at the opera.
The Snow Crystal Forest was one of the best haute couture shows I’ve seen in Paris this year. In my opinion, the young talented designer will soon follow in the footsteps of Zuhair Murad and dress Hollywood celebrities for glamorous events. His haute couture is wearable and therefore successful on the market. With at least two ready-to-wear collections, he would ultimately increase his success.
For this new couture collection, Ziad Nakad presented his romantic vision of a season in magic colors where white predominates. A white that appears as cold as snow and that gradually heats up when velvet, feathers, tulle and lace are interwoven through learned embroideries. Numerous cut-outs on the back and shoulders draw the body to reveal a bewitching femininity. Navy, gray and red enriches the colors of this magical forest.
And a bride like a queen of an exceptional night, dressed in white and gold that illuminates this universe fit to the legends of a thousand and one nights.

Hairstylist Stephen Low opted for a glamorous hairstyling with soft waves on the front and straight hair on the back. Make-up artist Debbie Finnegan was in charge of the Hollywood glamour make-up. “We gave a modern twist to the classic eyeliner by creating a little galaxy of stars on the eyelid; we also focused on a luminous glowy skin highlighting it with pigments,” she said.
