Marilyn Monroe, the world’s most famous actress, once said: “The nicest thing for me is sleep, then at least I can dream.” If you’re looking for the perfect place to sleep and dream in Paris, I recommend the Platine Hotel in the 15th arrondissement. I stayed at this amazing 4-star boutique hotel during haute couture fashion week in July 2017. The Marilyn Monroe hotel in Paris took me on a trip to to the glamorous Hollywood of the fifties and sixties.

MARILYN MONROE HOTEL IN PARIS
(Above) I booked the Deluxe room number 107 in gold and black. The interior design and especially the number 5 on the carpet centre around Marilyn’s famous declaration that she wore nothing in bed but a few drops of Chanel No.5. I liked the room very much, most of all the private terrace. The room also features a shower with changing coloured lights.

It’s very rare to find beautiful boutique hotels with a private terrace in Paris. There are only two deluxe rooms with a private terrace at the Platine Hotel. Therefore, I strongly suggest that you call the reception of the hotel in order to find out if they’re available during your stay.

It takes you only two minutes on foot to get the the Beaugrenelle shopping mall, which is divided into two buildings, where you will find many restaurants (including healthy and vegetarian ones), boutiques, a nail bar and a huge cinema.

THE MARILYN MONROE SUITE
(Above) The spacious suite with its predominant colour red is located on the the seventh floor. The hotel, which is located less than a five minutes’ walk from the metro station Charles Michels, features 46 rooms and suites. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
(Above) The stay at the Marilyn Monroe hotel in Paris is indeed a unique experience. 60 percent of the Platine’s guests are French. The design hotel attracts many people who are looking for a different vacation in an exclusive, but affordable design hotel.
(Above) Fans of the TV series Mad Men will love the cosy lobby of the hotel. I had the impression to be in a living room of the fifties or sixties.
(Above) I immediately fell in love with his American diner when I entered the hotel. The photo wallpaper, the fifties furniture, the turquoise chairs and the movie star chairs made me feel as if I were in a Hollywood movie. Breakfast is being served here. Guests have plenty to choose from: coffee (espresso, cappuccino, café au lait), tea, fruit juices, fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, sausiges, bread (even wholemeal bread), croissants, yoghurt, cheese, marmelade, honey, ham, salami, cereals, dried fruit, milk etc.
