BEAUTY LAUNCHES IN SUMMER 2021

A fragrance bottle for fans of Emily in Paris, an iconic dry oil with soothing notes of neroli and bergamot, a beautifying veil made of precious black roses, and a Japanese skincare line that beauty editors love: discover the best beauty launches in summer 2021.

As a beauty editor, I’m often asked which are my favourite skincare brands. One of my top 3 skincare brands is Waso, Shiseido’s youth-focused brand. In my opinion, the brand, which was launched in 2017, is one of the most underrated in the beauty industry. I’ve used at least ten Waso products and I must admit that they’re excellent. Even though Waso focuses on young people, the skincare line always improved my skin. If you’d love to discover Waso, I highly recommend that you start with the Waso Giga-Hydrating Rich Cream in autumn or winter. Last winter, I used it as a night cream and it hydrated my combination skin extremely well without causing any spots.

JAPANESE SKINCARE FOR THE GENERATION Z

This summer, Waso launches a new series of skincare products that target one of Gen Z’s three main specific skin concerns: blemishes, visible pores and dryness while optimizing skin’s condition. The products contain four super ingredients: Shikuwasa extract, the key ingredient used in all Waso products, Shikulime, a Japanese lime that supports good skin barrier function, Satocane, a Japanese sugarcane that helps to prevent the degradation of sebum in skin, a main cause of clogged pores, and, last but not least, Yuzu-C, a Japanese citrus that moisturizes and hydrates skin.

The Shikulime Gel-to-Oil Cleanser is a hybrid make-up remover and cleanser that removes impurities, excess sebum and make-up (even waterproof) without drying out the skin. The formula transforms from gel to oil and finally to milk as you cleanse face, eyes and lips.

The Shikulime Mega Hydrating Moisturizer locks moisture for 48 hours. It features a perfect balance between texture, freshness and spreadability and is ideal for normal to dry skin. It also improves roughness caused by dryness and strengthens the skin’s barrier function.

The Yuzu-C Beauty Sleeping Mask recharges skin’s radiance overnight. The quick absorbing lightweight, water-fresh cooling gel hydrates skin and plumps it.

The Satocane Pore Purifying Scrub Mask, which contains mineral clay, removes dirt, absorbs excess sebum, targets clogged pores and blackheads. The formula’s vegetal exfoliants also help to micro-buff dead cells away, revealing smoothing skin and giving it a matter finish. I use the scrub mask once a week and it really makes a difference when I apply foundation the next days. The complexion is more even and brighter.

The Koshirice Calming Spot Treatment is a gentle, non-drying and alcohol-free cream that reduces blemish quantity and blurs inflammatory blemishes. The salicylic acid gently clears dead skin cells and unclogs pores. The cooling formula rich in water can be used over make-up
without causing excessive drying.

BLACK ROSE BEAUTIFYING EMULSION

Sisley’s body care products are the epitome of luxury. I love the incredible sensory experience they offer, the amazing smell and especially the long-lasting hydrating effect.

In 2011, Sisley launched Black Rose Cream Mask. Its texture and instant effect on the skin’s vitality and radiance has earned it iconic status. This mask marked the start of a collection that has gained a growing number of devoted fans over the years.

This summer, Sisley is launching Black Rose Beautifying Emulsion, an intensely rehydrating, beautifying veil that restores the elasticity and suppleness of skin while enveloping it in aromas of rose. Its aqueous and oily extracts harness the benefits of this precious flower. Each rose is formed of 40 petals that are highly concentrated in active molecules. Grown in the south of France, the roses are picked during just one month of the year as they first bloom in order to preserve their full power.

Black Rose Beautifying Emulsion capitalises on the flower’s precious properties to intensely hydrate the skin, leaving it plumper and more beautiful.

SILKY AND GLOSSY HAIR WITH HEAT AND A CREAM

In recent years, heat-styling tools have become increasingly popular, allowing us to add volume to our hair, create straight, glossy, tamed or wavy locks, subtle curls, and more. But the use of these tools weakens the hair fibre and deteriorates its vitality. Subjected to temperatures of up to 230°C, the hair suffers and is damaged.

Sisley Paris has created the perfect solution with the Cream 230. Its innovation consists in a new thermoactive technology that infuses restorative active ingredients into the hair fibre to protect and enhance it.

When activated by heat, the powerful formula of Sisley’s 230 complex forms an adhesive micro-gel and repairs the hair in two essential steps: the damaged parts are sealed and breakage is repaired. The hair fibre is left glossy and, for the first time, enhanced by heat: the hair is repaired, strengthened, nourished, silky and glossy.

A non-rinse hair care cream, the Cream 230 is applied to the lengths and ends of damp or dry hair before using heat-styling tools such as hairdryers, straighteners or curling irons. It is enriched with precious botanical oils of Camellia and Moringa, which nourish and soften the hair, as well as cotton proteins that strengthen its protein structure.

ICONIC DRY OIL WITH NEW NEROLI SCENT

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of France’s most iconic organic dry oil, Nuxe is launching Huile Prodigieuse Néroli. Its new mixed scent with soothing notes of neroli, bergamot and lavandin diffuses serenity and mediterranean joy de vivre. Its delicate alchemy of precious organic botanical oils leaves an irresistible satiny sheen on skin and hair, with no oily finish.

If you apply the dry oil on your hair, limit yourself to the lengths and ends. For an intense conditioning effect, you can also apply it as a hair mask: once or twice a week, before shampooing, apply it all over your hair and leave it in for ten minutes.

A FRAGRANCE BOTTLE THAT REMINDS US OF EMILY IN PARIS

Charlotte Daotrong (21), a French architecture student, designed a Parisian bottle that earned her the title of Zadig Contender of the year. The latest addition to her portfolio is the new, limited-edition ART 4 ALL.

Charlotte depicted the French capital’s vibrant night life. Inspired by a view worthy of the best scenes of Emily in Paris, Lupin or Midnight in Paris, her urban skyline is both real and surreal. Her one shot design gives electric curves to the zinc roofs and the Eiffel Tower. Dominating the skyline, the Iron Lady looks like she was just built. Avant-garde forever.

The new limited edition features two fragrances. THIS IS HER is soft but wild: the pop-culture exoticism of juicy mango gives way to an opulent accord of chestnut and jasmine. THIS IS HIM features explosive pink grapefruit that lights up notes of crisp fruit. Cardamom spices up an offbeat composition.
