“The biggest danger for any organism is to not identify that it’s being threatened. I want to hope that people realize that the source of danger and risk in the Middle East is not the Israeli-Palestinian conflict but the deep radical Islamic vision of forming a global caliphate.” This quote by Naftali Bennett, Israel’s minister of education, summarizes part of the plot of the second season of Fauda, Israel’s most successful TV series.
In an interview with Fox News, Lior Raz, main actor and co-author of Fauda, said: “I used to be in the special forces in Israel when I was younger. My friend Avi Issacharoff and I met at a special event in the West Bank. I can’t say why, when and how. He asked me if I had a dream. I said: “Yes, I want to write something about the special forces, the undercover units and the price they’re paying. And I also want to talk about the Palestinians, because in Israel nobody talks about the Palestinians in the Israeli culture scene.” He answered: “Why don’t we write something together?” This is how Fauda started.
