I had the honour to attend the Georges Hobeika haute couture show Fall/Winter 2016/17 in Paris. It was a spectacular show featuring breathtakingly beautiful evening gowns, cocktail dresses and embroidered coats. The creativity and the incomparable craftsmanship of this great Lebanese couturier were reflected in each garment.
For his new haute couture collection, Georges Hobeika took inspiration from the virtue of peace contained in heavenly laterns flying high into the starry evening and spreading, in a bright twinkle, their message of love and harmony.
This symbol of hope is expressed by the vivid glow of a spectacular blossom that feeds a cloud of delicate lace. Sometimes carved out of shantung silk, sometimes composed of crystals and pearls in generous volume, the lotus flowers display the opulence of their foliage on fine fabrics.
